Score dimensions
- Airline Score — breadth and quality of frequent-flyer transfer partners.
- Hotel Score — depth of hotel point transfer and earn options.
- Business Class Score — efficiency of redeeming the card's currency for J-class.
- Luxury Travel Score — premium-cabin sweet spots, lounge access, suite redemptions.
- Beginner Score — clarity of value for first-time miles & points users.
- Premium Traveller Score — for high spenders chasing top-tier status and J/F travel.
- Overall Score — composite of the above with configurable weights.
Normalization
All sub-scores are normalized to a 0–100 scale so cards remain comparable across categories. Outliers are softened with a logarithmic tail; nothing is hand-tuned per card.
Explainability
Every score on the site exposes:
- Why it scored high
- Which factors influenced the rank
- Strengths and weaknesses
You can verify any rank by reading the breakdown on the card detail page.
Configurable weights
The compare engine and search use the same engine with different weight profiles — e.g. business-class searches up-weight J/F redemption value; beginner searches up-weight simplicity and forgiveness. The weights are stored as configuration, not hidden in code.
